Requirements vary by community and HOA, and sorting out those local rules is one of the things we handle for you. When you get started, just tell us where the property is and we’ll take it from there.
We do. About a week before we dig, Mason Fence calls 811 to have your underground utilities marked so posts go in safely. It’s filed under our name, not yours — one less thing on your plate, and one of several details we cover so the job is squared away before the first post goes in.
We set posts 30 to 32 inches deep, below the Indiana frost line. That’s the part of the job nobody sees, and it’s the part that keeps the winter freeze-thaw cycle from heaving your fence out of plumb. Deep-set posts below the frost line, a layout built to your actual yard rather than a template, gates sized and placed where you need them, and solid hardware that holds up to daily use. Correct. We sell you the materials at our actual cost, contractor and bulk discounts included, and we earn our living on the labor and installation. No markup, no doubled price on every post. It’s a more honest way to price a fence, and it’s usually the thing customers appreciate most on the first call — more on the why behind it on our about page.
It depends on the material. Wood and chain-link projects take a 50% deposit to reserve your spot. Vinyl and aluminum take a 75% deposit, which covers the panels and posts we order for your specific build. You pay the balance at the final walkthrough, once you’re satisfied with the finished fence.
Most projects wrap up in about two days once we begin. Larger or more complex builds can take longer, and you’ll get a realistic timeline in your written estimate so you’re never left guessing. You’re welcome to be home during the install, but you don’t need to be.
We don’t quote fences over the phone, because an accurate number depends on seeing your yard — the ground, the grade, the layout, and access all affect the job. Cameron comes out, walks the property with you, and you get a clear, itemized estimate with no surprises.
